Updates for COVID-19
There will not be a gathering at the starting line. Because we use disposable chip timing, participants can begin their race as soon as they are ready after picking up their bib (as early as 9:00 am). The chip will record your start time and your finish time. All participants must finish by 11:00 am.
There will be no aid stations along the course. Participants who need water during the race are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to carry with them during the race.
Virtual Awards Ceremony
Rather than an in-person awards ceremony, we will have a live streaming event later that day announcing our overall winners and age group winners. Trophies will be shipped to overall winners. All participants will receive a finisher medal.
In compliance with NC Executive Order 147, all attendees should plan to wear a face covering at check in and any time you are not strenuously exercising, unless you meet one of the exceptions described in Section II,C of this order. If you do not have a face covering, we will have a limited supply available.
Due to COVID restrictions, we will not be able to offer our usual free kids activities and fun run. However our pumpkin patch will be open for families that want to visit at their leisure.
Rather than having a self-serve refreshments table, drinks and snacks will be included in your runner's pack this year. Of course, you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, and top male and female masters (40 and older). These, along with the top three male and female finishers in 12 different age categories, will be announced on our Virtual Awards Ceremony. In addition, all participants will receive a finisher medal.
All proceeds benefit South Mountain Christian Camp, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. South Mountain provides summer camp programs for children and youth in which no child is ever denied the opportunity to attend camp for financial reasons. This year, South Mountain is facing a financial shortfall of over $100,000 due to COVID-19
